REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear shelf:
^ Refer to 2008 Accord Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keywords REAR SHELF, and select Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Shelf from the list.
2. Remove the high mount brake light assembly from the rear shelf:
^ Refer to 2008 Accord Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keywords HIGH MOUNT, and select High Mount Brake Light Replacement from the list.
3. Cut four 10 x 25 mm strips of wool felt.
4. Remove the adhesive backing from two of the strips, and attach them to the other two strips to make two 10 x 25 mm strips of double thickness.
5. Remove the adhesive backing from the wool felt strips, and wrap them around the brake light mounting hooks on the rear shelf.
NOTE:
Do not apply the wool felt to the lens tabs. Wrapping the hooks eliminates the noise better than applying felt to the tabs.
6. Reinstall the high mount brake light assembly, then reinstall the rear shelf in the vehicle.
7. Play the audio system at a moderate volume with the BASS and SUBW settings at maximum, and make sure that the rattle is gone.
