DIAGNOSIS
While driving the vehicle over bumps and rough roads, apply pressure to the glove box, or open the glove box completely. If the rattle stops, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE. If the rattle does not change, continue with normal troubleshooting procedures.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Open the glove box, and remove the passenger's dashboard trim:
^ Refer to page 20-159 of the 2008 Accord Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keywords PASSENGER TRIM, and select Passenger's Dashboard Trim Removal / Installation (Video Enhanced) (page 20-159) from the list.
NOTE:
The online removal instructions include an interactive video of this removal procedure.
2. Cut two 20 mm x 30 mm pieces of wool felt. Attach the felt to each side of the dashboard as shown.
NOTE:
To prevent the felt from showing when the glove box is open, position it just under the bottom edge of the rib.
3. Reinstall the passenger's dashboard trim.
4. Test-drive the vehicle to make sure that the rattle is gone.
