Drive Motor Power Cable: Service and Repair
Motor Power Cable Removal/installationNOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands from electrical shock.
IMA components are located in this area. The IMA is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the IMA system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the IMA service precautions before doing repairs or service.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio or navigation system.
2. Make sure the ignition switch OFF.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 V battery.
4. Remove the IPU lid.
5. Disconnect the A/C compressor power connector (A) from the A/C compressor driver.
6. Lift the IPU wire harness (A).
7. Remove the PDU cover (A).
8. Remove the motor power cables (B) and wrap them with insulating tape. Note the position of the U phase, V phase, and W phase cables before disconnecting the motor power cables.
9. Remove the wires (A) from the DC-DC converter.
10. Remove the air cleaner.
11. Disconnect the motor power cable connector (A) from the motor stator (B).
NOTE: Refer to disconnecting motor power cable connector from motor stator.
12. Remove the wire (A) from the under-hood fuse/relay box and the bolts (B).
13. Remove the cowl cover and the under-cowl panel.
14. Remove the cover (A), and disconnect the motor power cable connector (B).
15. Remove the motor power cable (A) from the stays (B).
16. Remove the bolts (A), and the cover (B).
17. Remove the bolts (A), then remove the clamp (B).
NOTE: Do not reuse the clamp. Replace it with a new one.
18. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
