IMA Indicator Is On With DTC P0A7F

*REVISION SUMMARY

^ Under REPAIR PROCEDURE, instructions for using a new three-letter IMA battery code and the reference to Service Bulletin 10-083, IMA Battery Software and Hardware Updates were added.

^ Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the operation number was changed.*

SYMPTOM

The IMA indicator comes on with DTC POA7F (battery module deterioration).

PROBABLE CAUSE

Cold weather causes the IMA system to incorrectly set DTC POA7F.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the IMA battery software with the HDS.

The normal warranty applies.

SOFTWARE INFORMATION

HDS Software Version: 2.006.012 or later.

NOTE:
To avoid an incorrect repair that would not be covered under warranty, use the software version listed above or a later version.

The updated IMA battery software program IDs and P/Ns are listed below. If the HDS is loaded with the latest software, and it displays No Update Needed during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the IMA software with the HDS and HDS software version 2.006.012 or later. Refer to UPDATING A CONTROL UNIT/MODULE WITH THE HDS in Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Unit/Modules.

NOTE:

^ If DTC POA7F recurs after you update the IMA battery software, replace the IMA battery.

^ When using HDS software version 2.024.007 or later, with a CM update of 19-NOV-10 or later, you must input a three-letter code when updating the IMA battery software. For more information, refer to Service Bulletin 10-083, IMA Battery Software and Hardware Updates.
