Variable Valve Timing Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
VTEC Solenoid Valve Test1. Remove the resonator.
2. Disconnect the VTEC solenoid valve 1P connector.
3. Measure resistance between the VTEC solenoid valve 1P connector terminal No.1 and body ground.
4. If the resistance is within specifications, remove the VTEC solenoid valve assembly (A) from the cylinder head, and check the filter (B) for clogging. If there is clogging, replace the solenoid valve filter, the engine oil filter, and the engine oil.
5. If the filter is not clogged, remove the VTEC solenoid valve (A), and push the VTEC valve (B) with your finger to check its movement. If the VTEC valve moves, check the engine oil pressure.
