Oil Pan Installation
Installation1. Remove old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, bolts and bolt holes.
2. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces and O-ring groove.
3. Install the dowel pins (A), and install the new O-ring (B) and oil pan gasket (C) on the oil pan.
4. Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08718-0009, to the cylinder block mating surface of the oil pan and the inner threads of the holes.
NOTE:
^ Apply a 1.5 mm wide bead of the liquid gasket along the broken line (A).
^ Apply a 5.0 mm wide bead of the liquid gasket to the shaded area (B).
^ Do not install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing old residue.
5. Install the oil pan.
6. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps.
7. Tighten the two bolts securing the transmission.
8. Install the dipstick tube (A) with new O-ring (B).
9. Install the intermediate shaft bracket.
10. With the engine in the vehicle, install the lower radiator hose joint pipe to the oil pan.
11. With the engine in the vehicle, install the A/C compressor.
12. With the engine in the vehicle, install the subframe.
-1 Install the subframe. Align the reference lines on the subframe with the bolt head center, then tighten the bolts.
-2 Tighten the rear mount mounting bolts.
-3 Tighten the front mount mounting bolt.
-4 Install the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses.
-5 Connect the suspension lower arm ball joints.
-6 Install the NOx adsorptive three way catalytic converter (NOx adsorptive TWC); use new gaskets and new self locking nuts.
-7 Connect the third heated oxygen sensor (third HO2S) connector.
-8 Install the splash shield and under cover.
13. After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
