DTC P1574 (68): Battery Module Temperature Signal Circuit ProblemNOTE: If the IPU module fan duct is blocked, DTC P1574 may be detected.
1. Reset the MCM.
2. Start the engine, and hold it at 3,000-4,000 rpm for 2 minutes.
Does the IPU module fan run?
YES-Go to step 3.
NO-Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and at the MCM.
3. Raise the engine speed, and charge the IMA battery.
Does the IPU module fan run?
YES-Go to step 4.
NO-Replace the IPU module fan.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
6. Remove the IPU lid.
7. Measure resistance between MCM connector terminals E4 and E13.
Is there about 3.5 k Ohms - 60 k Ohms?
YES-Go to step 8.
NO-Replace the battery module.
8. Measure resistance between MCM connector terminals E3 and E13.
Is there about 3.5 k Ohms - 60 k Ohms?
YES-Go to step 9.
NO-Replace the battery module.
9. Measure resistance between MCM connector terminals E12 and E13.
Is there about 3.5 k Ohms - 60 k Ohms?
YES-Replace the battery module.
NO-Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good MCM, replace the original MCM.
