DTC P0145: Slow Response in Third HO2S (Sensor 3) Circuit - 2002-2004 M/T models

1. Reset the ECM.
2. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
3. Test/drive under these conditions.
- 55 - 65 mph (89 - 105 km/h) steady speed
- Transmission in 4th or 5th gear
- Until the readiness code or Temporary DTC P0145 and/or P0145 is set

4. Check for a Temporary DTC with a scan tool or the HDS.

Is Temporary DTC P0145 and/or P0145 indicated?

YES - Replace the secondary HO2S (Sensor 2), and the third HO2S (Sensor 3).

NO - Go to step 5.

5. Check the third HO2S (Sensor 3) output voltage at 3,000 rpm with a scan tool or the HDS.

Does the voltage stay within 0.3 - 0.6 V for two minutes?

YES - Replace the secondary HO2S (Sensor 2), and the third HO2S (Sensor 3).

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires at the third HO2S (Sensor 3) and at the ECM.
