Front Seat Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures in the SRS section before performing repairs or service.

4-way Power Seat

NOTE:
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons.




2. Slide the seat all the way forward, then remove the seat track end covers from the back of both seat tracks.
3. Slide the seat to the rear, about halfway so you can access the mounting bolts.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before removing the seat.




5. Remove the bolts securing the front seat.




6. Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the power seat connector (B), the side airbag connector (C), and the OPDS unit connector(D).
7. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.
8. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply liquid thread lock to the seat mounting bolts before re installation
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
- Reset the lock.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure.
- Perform the power window control unit reset procedure.
