Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

WARNING: Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Keep open flame away from your work area.

1. Remove the seat cushion, and pull up the carpet.




2. Remove the roar floor beam.
3. Remove the access panel.
4. With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the 3P connector from the fuel gauge sending unit.




5. Remove the fuel gauge sending unit.




6. Measure the resistance between the No.1 and No.2 terminals at E (EMPTY), 1/2 (HALF FULL) and F (FULL) by moving the float.
If you do not get the readings shown in the table, replace the fuel gauge sending unit.
