The table shows symptoms and probable causes for problems that DO NOT cause the Malfunction indicator Lamp (MIL) to come on.
Troubleshoot each probable cause in the order listed (from left to right) until the symptom is eliminated.
The probable cause can be found in the table.

- Compression
- Starting system
- Intake air leakage
- Overheating
- Engine locked up
- Battery
- Timing belt
