DTC 11-3
DTC 11-3: Short to another wire or decreased resistance in driver's side airbag inflator1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about six seconds, and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light stay on?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for three minutes.
4. Disconnect the left side wire harness 2P connector from the driver's side airbag.
5. connect the special tool (2 ohms) to the left side wire harness 2P connector.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
7. Erase the DTC memory.
8. Read the DTC.
Is DTC 11-3 indicated?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Short to another wire in the driver's side airbag inflator; replace the driver's side airbag.
9. Disconnect the left side wire harness 4P connector (A) from the SRS main harness 4P connector (B).
10. Connect the special tool (2 ohms) to the SRS main harness 4P connector.
11. Erase the DTC memory.
12. Read the DTC.
Is DTC 11-3 indicated?
YES - Go to step 13.
NO - Short to another wire or decreased resistance in the left side wire harness; replace the left side wire harness.
13. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for three minutes.
14. Disconnect the right side wire harness 2P connector (A) from the front passenger's side airbag (B).
15. Disconnect the special tool (2 ohms) from the SRS main harness 4P connector.
16. Disconnect the SRS main harness 14P connector (A) from the SRS unit (B).
SRS Main Harness 14P Connector (Wire Side Of Female Terminals):
17. Check resistance between the No.4 and No.13 terminals of the SRS main harness 14P connector. There should be 1 M ohm or more.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.
NO - Short to another wire in the SRS main harness; replace the SRS main harness.
