DTC 48
DTC P1162: Malfunction in Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) Circuit1. Do the ECM/PCM Reset Procedure.
2. Start the engine, and wait at least two minutes. Is DTC P1162 indicated?
YES-Go to step 3.
NO-Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.
Check for poor connections or loose wires at the Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) and the ECM/PCM.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Start the engine.
5. Measure voltage between the ECM/PCM connector terminals C14 and B20 and between C15 and B20.
Is there 2.5-3.0 V?
YES-Go to step 6.
NO-Go to step 9.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect the Primary HO2S 4P connector, and the ECM/PCM connector C (31P).
8. Check for continuity between the Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) 4P connector terminal No.2 and the ECM/PCM connector terminal C14 and between Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) 4P connector terminal No.1 and ECM/PCM connector terminal C15.
Is there continuity?
YES-Replace the Primary HO2S (Sensor 1).
NO-Repair open in the wire between Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) and ECM/PCM (C14 or C15).
9. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Disconnect the Primary HO2S 4P connector and the ECM/PCM connector C (31P).
11. Check for continuity between body ground and the Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) 4P connector terminals No.2 and No.1.
Is there continuity?
YES-Repair short in the wire between Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) and ECM/PCM (C14 or C15).
NO-Replace the Primary HO2S (Sensor 1).
