Testing For Warpage

NOTE: If camshaft-to-holder oil clearances are not within specification, the head cannot be resurfaced.

If camshaft-to-holder oil clearances are within specifications, check the head for warpage.
- If warpage is less than 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) cylinder head resurfacing is not required.
- If warpage is between 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) and 0.2 mm (0.008 inch), resurface cylinder head.
- Maximum resurface limit is 0.2 mm (0.008 inch) based on a height of 142 mm (5.59 inch).








Measure along edges, and three ways across center.

Cylinder Head Height:
Standard (New): 141.95- 142.05 mm (5.589 - 5.593 inch)
