Lateral Accelerometer: Testing and Inspection

CAUTION: Se careful not to drop or bump the sensor, and don't remove or install it with an impact wrench; the sensor may be damaged.

NOTE: For accurate readings, the vehicle must be level.

1. Remove the SRS unit.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Measure the voltage between the lateral G sensor connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.




There should be approx. 2.5 V.




4. Remove the lateral G sensor.
5. Measure the voltage between the lateral G sensor connector terminal No. 2 and body ground with the connector connected.




- There should be approx. 1.5 V when the connector side facing down.
- There should be approx. 3.5 V when the connector side facing up.
