Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation
PURPOSE/OPERATIONThe Air Cleaner Housing contains the Air Filter Element that traps dirt and other contaminants before they have a chance to enter the engine. Air is drawn through the air intake tube, filtered by the Air Cleaner, then passes through the air flow tube into the air intake chamber and finally into the throttle body. There is also a resonator chamber connected to the air intake tube which helps reduce airflow noise as air is drawn into the system.
