Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation

THREE WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER
The Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) is used to convert Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) in the exhaust gas, to Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Dinitrogen (N2) and water vapor.





WARM UP THREE WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER
The Warm Up Three Way Catalytic Converter (WU-TWC) system is designed to lower HC. CO. and NOx emissions during Engine warm up. The WU-TWC is located in the Exhaust Pipe A ahead of the Three Way Catalytic Converter.
