Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1. Drain engine oil into suitable container.
2. Remove timing belt. Refer to Timing Components / Timing Belt.
3. Remove oil pump drive pulley attaching nut, then the drive pulley. The oil pump drive pulley nut has lefthand threads.

4. Remove oil pump attaching nut and bolts, then the oil pump, Fig. 46.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten pump attaching bolts, nut and pulley attaching nut to specification Timing Components / Timing Belt.
3. Remove timing belt tensioner and timing belt driving gear.
4. Remove oil pan and oil pump pickup screen.

5. Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump, Fig. 47.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten all attaching bolts and nuts to specification.
