SYMPTOM:
Engine Difficult to Start When Cold

Check:
1. Coolant Temperature Sensor (6)
2. Electronic Air Control Valve (14)
3. Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (3) or (5)
4. ECU (BU)
5. Fuel System
- Fuel Filter
- Fuel Injector
- Fuel Pressure Regulator

NOTE:
After each symptom, the systems that could be the source of the symptom are listed and should be checked in the order they are listed, beginning with #1.

(BU) When the Check Engine warning light and the self-diagnosis indicator are on, the back-up system is in operation. Substitute a known good ECU and recheck. If the indication goes away, replace the original ECU.
