Power Valve System
Power Valve Testing:
This first portion of this procedure requires and air cleaner temperature of less than 68° F (20.5° C).
1. Disconnect vacuum line #14 from vacuum manifold as shown.
2. Connect a vacuum pump to vacuum line #14, apply vacuum. If vacuum does not hold, power valve diaphragm is defective and must be replaced.
Power Valve Testing:
3. Start engine and connect vacuum gauge as shown.
Expected result:
No vacuum. If OK continue. If not OK, air cleaner mounted air bleed valve B is defective and must be replaced.
4. Allow engine to run until the cooling fan comes on. Check vacuum gauge.
Expected result:
Engine vacuum. If OK, test complete. If not OK, air cleaner mounted air bleed valve B is defective and must be replaced.
