Mixture Control Solenoid - Slow Cut: Description and Operation
Primary Slow Mixture Cut-Off Solenoid:
The primary slow mixture cut-off solenoid valve is mounted on each carburetor. It contains a spring loaded rod that protrudes into the fuel passage used by the idle circuit. When energized the rod is pulled out of the passage allowing normal fuel flow. It is provided to cut off the idle mixture passage when the ignition is switched off to prevent engine run-on. It is also employed to lower emissions and improve fuel economy by cutting the fuel supply during sudden deceleration.
