Clearance Inspection

NOTE: Two types of 36 x 44 x 29 mm collars and four types of thrust washers for 1st gear are available for the adjustment of the clearance between the gears on the countershaft.




1. Assemble the gears, spacer collars, thrust washer, synchro hub, synchro ring, etc. as shown.




2. Tighten the countershaft lock nut to the correct torque.

NOTE: Place the shaft in a vice with soft jaws.




3 Measure and record the clearance between the 1st gear and thrust washer.
4. If the clearance is out of tolerance, select the appropriate thrust washer or spacer collar for the correct clearance from the charts above.




5. Measure the clearance between the 2nd gear and 3rd gear.
6. If the clearance is out of tolerance, select the appropriate thrust washer or spacer collar for the correct clearance from the charts above.
