PROBLEM

The edge of the hood garnish is coming loose from its mounting, causing the garnish to raise above the surface of the hood.



CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the garnish and garnish clips with the improved parts listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

1 . Open the hood. Remove the two hole caps and
the two retention screws.

2. Hand-pry the garnish away from the hood surface, disconnect the windshield washer hose, and discard the garnish.

3. Remove the eight garnish clips from their recess in the hood and discard them.

4. Install eight new garnish clips in the recessed areas. Make sure they are completely seated into the hood.

5. Snap the new hood garnish into place starting at the center and working toward one side and then the other. Then reinstall the two retention screws and two hole caps.
