Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair


OXYGEN SENSOR REPLACEMENT



CAUTION:
To avoid the danger of burns, replace the oxygen sensor only when the engine is cool.

1. Disconnect oxygen sensor/ECU connector wire.
2. Remove faulty oxygen sensor.
3. Coat the threads of the new oxygen sensor with anti-seize compound. Be carefull not to get the anti-seize compound into the slots on the sensor end.
4. Install the new oxygen sensor and torque to 45 Nm (33 lb.ft).
5. Connect the ECU connector wire securely.
