If the Engine Cannot Be Started
Fig. 51 Fuel Injector:
1. Turn the ignition switch on.
a. The CHECK ENGINE warning light should come on for 2 seconds then go out.
b. If the CHECK ENGINE light does not come on for 2 seconds and then go out, check the ECU. See CODE 0 ECU TEST
2. Remove the connector from each injector, and measure the resistance between the two terminals of each injector.
Resistance should be: 1.5-2.5 Ohms
Fig. 54 Measuring Injector Resistance:
3. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the injector.
4. If the resistance is as specified, check the fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE TEST
5. If the fuel pressure is OK, check the following:
a. If there is a short circuit, broken wire, or poor connection in the YELLOW/BLACK wire between the main relay and the resistor.
b. If the fuel injector resistor is open or corroded. See FUEL INJECTOR RESISTOR TEST
c. If there is a short circuit, broken wire, or poor connection in the RED/BLACK wire between the injector resistor and the injector.
d. If there is a short circuit, broken wire, or poor connection in the wire between the injector and the ECU.
6. If all is OK, See DIAGNOSOS BY SYMPTOM
