Dashpot: Testing and Inspection

Exc. 1987---88 Accord & 1988 Prelude
1. Open throttle arm until dash pot rod is fully extended.
2. Release throttle arm and measure time it takes throttle arm to contact stop screw. Time should be 0.2---2.0 seconds.
3. If time is over 2 seconds, replace dash pot check valve. If rod does not operate, check for bound linkage or clogged check valve or vacuum line.
