Choke Thermostat/Heater: Testing and Inspection
1. Start engine and allow to idle. As engine reaches normal operating temperature, the choke blade should fully open.
2. If it does, refer to ``Fast Idle Unloader'' under ``Adjustments'' on 1985-86 models, or to ``Thermowax Valve'' under ``Adjustments'' on 1987 models.
3. If choke blade does not fully open, inspect linkage and clean or repair as necessary.
4. If choke still does not open all the way, disconnect white/blue choke cover wire from engine compartment wiring harness and check for voltage.
5. If voltmeter reads zero volts, check for open circuit in white/blue wire between choke cover connector and voltage regulator connector, then check the charge warning light circuit.
