Fuel Injected Engine

Fuel Filter Service Bolt:

Prior to disconnecting fuel lines on models with fuel injected engines, relieve fuel system pressure as follows:
^ Disconnect battery ground cable.
^ Place shop towel over 6 mm service bolt located on top of fuel filter.
^ Slowly loosen service bolt one full turn.

WARNING: Don't smoke when working with fuel systems. Keep open flames out of work areas.

Fuel Pump Assembly:

1. Remove left access cover trunk.
2. Be sure ignition switch is OFF.
3. Disconnect electrical connector and fuel lines.
4. Remove pump mounting bolts and remove pump from tank.

Note: It may be necessary to loosen fuel tank mounting nuts and slightly lower tank if pump is hard to remove.

5. Reverse steps to refit pump. Be sure seal is in place.
6. Check for leaks.
