Feedback Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect upper hose from feedback control solenoid valve and plug end of hose.
2. Connect vacuum pump/gauge to valve, then start engine and apply vacuum to valve. Valve should not hold vacuum.
3. If vacuum is held, connect positive probe of voltmeter to white/yellow wire terminal of feedback control solenoid valve and negative probe to black wire terminal.
4. If there is voltage, proceed to ``Diagnosis & Troubleshooting.''
5. If there is no voltage, replace feedback control solenoid valve and repeat test.
6. If vacuum is not held in step 2, raise engine speed to 2500 RPM and apply vacuum to valve. The valve should hold vacuum.
7. If vacuum is not held, check for voltage at feedback control solenoid valve above 2500 RPM.
8. If there is voltage, replace feedback control solenoid valve and repeat test.
9. If there is no voltage, proceed to ``Diagnosis & Troubleshooting.''
