Installation
1. Tighten coil assembly mounting screws in alternating pattern. Torque screws to 2-2.5 ft. lbs., then punch lock each screw at one location to prevent loosening.
2. Using a suitable plastic hammer, drive pulley and bearing assembly onto neck of installed coil assembly. Turn pulley to ensure that there is no noise and that pulley turns freely. Ensure that there is no pulley play.
3. Position locknut and lock washer in place. Using locknut socket, KV99412310 or equivalent, torque nut to 18-20 ft. lbs. With lock washer tab and locknut cutouts aligned, carefully bend tab with screwdriver so as not to damage bearing cage.
4. Fit key and clutch hub to shaft. Select adjusting spacer that gives correct clearance of .020-.031 inch between pulley and clutch hub.
5. Coat hub nut with Loctite or equivalent and torque hub nut to 13-15 ft. lbs.
6. Coat shaft nut with Loctite or equivalent and torque nut to 14-15 ft. lbs.
7. Measure clutch hub-to-pulley gap. If gap is not .020-.031 inch, replace adjusting spacer and readjust.
8. If compressor clutch assembly was replaced, engage and disengage clutch approximately thirty times for break-in.
