Drive and Reverse Engagement
1. Turn ignition switch to the ON position.2. Press brake pedal fully.
3. Ensure that the manual selector is in the Park (P) position.
4. Start and warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
5. Move the manual selector from the Park (P) position to the Reverse (R) position and observe reverse engagement.
6. Move the manual selector from Reverse (R) position to Drive (D) position and observe drive engagement.
7. Return the manual selector to the Park (P) position.
8. Turn ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Evaluation
At normal operating temperature of the transaxle fluid, 50 to 80° C (122 to 176° F), reverse engagement should take approximately 1.4 seconds. Drive engagement from reverse should take approximately one second. Reverse and drive engagements should be immediate but not harsh. If reverse or drive is slow to engage or seems too harsh, refer to LINE PRESSURE TEST.
