Shift Lock Control Module
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Center console.
3. Shift indicator bulb from shift indicator.
4. Four screws from shift indicator.
5. Reposition the shift indicator to gain access to the shift lock control module.
6. Shift lock solenoid/shift lock switch assembly electrical connectors from shift lock solenoid/shift lock switch assembly.
7. Shift lock control module electrical connector from shift lock control module.
8. Shift lock control module from manual selector.
Inspect
- For shift lock control module diagnosis procedures, refer to ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Shift lock control module to manual selector.
2. Shift lock control module electrical connector to shift lock control module.
3. Shift lock solenoid/shift lock switch assembly electrical connectors to shift lock solenoid/shift lock switch assembly.
Important: Upon completion of shift lock control module installation, perform the following steps to ensure proper operation:
A. Temporarily install negative (-) battery cable.
B. When ignition switch is turned to LOCK, solenoid is NOT energized.
C. When ignition switch is turned to ON, and the brake pedal is not depressed, the solenoid is NOT energized.
D. When ignition switch is turned to ON, and the brake pedal is depressed, the solenoid is energized.
E. Remove negative (-) battery cable.
4. Reposition the shift indicator to its original position.
5. Four screws to shift indicator.
6. Shift indicator bulb into shift indicator.
7. Center console.
8. Negative (-) battery cable.
