Key Lock Solenoid
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Knee bolster.
3. Key lock solenoid electrical connector from key lock solenoid.
4. Two screws and key lock solenoid from ignition switch.
Inspect
- For key lock solenoid diagnosis procedures, refer to ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Key lock solenoid into ignition switch; secure with two screws.
2. Key lock solenoid electrical connector to key lock solenoid.
3. Knee bolster.
4. Negative (-) battery cable.
Important: Upon completion of key lock solenoid installation, perform the following steps to ensure proper operation:
A. With the manual selector lever in the P (park) position, the ignition switch CAN be turned from ACC to LOCK position and the ignition key CAN be removed from the ignition switch.
B. With the manual selector in any position other than P (park) position, the ignition switch CANNOT be turned from ACC to LOCK position.
