B. Transaxle Case

- Tool Required:
- J 26900-1 Outside Micrometer





- Left differential side bearing selective shim using a J 26900-1. Use the dimension during the "Differential Side Bearing Preload Adjustment Procedure" to determine the correct differential side bearing selective shim size.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

- Tools Required:
- J 35552 Differential Side Bearing Race Installer
- J 8092 Driver Handle
- J 35553 Differential Side Bearing Seal Installer
- J 37274 Countershaft Bearing Installer
- J 36850 Transjel Transmission Assembly Lubricant





1. Left differential side bearing selective shim and race into torque converter housing using a J 35552 with a J 8092.





2. Front fluid baffle into transaxle case; secure with one bolt.
- Tighten front fluid baffle bolt to 10 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
3. New left drive axle shaft fluid seal into transaxle case housing using a J 35553 and a hammer.





4. Countershaft rear roller bearing into transaxle case using a J 37274 with a J 8092 and a hammer.





5. Rear fluid baffle into transaxle case; Secure with one bolt.
- Tighten rear fluid baffle bolt to 10 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
6. New B4 accumulator piston seal onto B4 accumulator piston.
7. Apply J 36850 to the B4 accumulator piston seal.





8. B4 accumulator piston and spring into transaxle case.
9. Apply Loctite pipe sealant GM P/N 1052080, or equivalent, to the threaded portion of the six gallery cover Torx head screws.








10. New gallery cover gasket and gallery cover onto transaxle case; secure with six Torx head screws and three bolts.
- Tighten:
- Gallery cover bolts to 10 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
- Gallery cover Torx head screws to 7 Nm (62 ft. lbs.).





11. Parking lock rod sleeve into transaxle case.





12. Parking lock rod guide onto transaxle case.





13. Parking lock pawl and parking lock pawl shaft into transaxle case; secure with parking lock pawl retainer and one bolt.
- Tighten parking lock pawl shaft retaining bolt to 5 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).





14. Parking lock guide plate and return spring into transaxle case; secure with two bolts.
- Tighten parking lock guide plate bolts to 13 Nm (115 ft. lbs.).
