F. Intermediate Brake Assembly






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

NOTICE: When using compressed air to remove components, air pressure should not exceed 98 kPa (14 psi).





1. Intermediate brake piston from intermediate brake drum by applying low pressure compressed air into the intermediate brake apply passage on one intermediate brake drum.





2. Two intermediate brake piston seals from intermediate brake piston.

Clean
- All intermediate Drake components and dry thoroughly.

Inspect
1. Intermediate brake discs for excessive wear or damnage. Replace as necessary.
2. Intermediate brake piston for cracks or porosity. Replace as necessary.
3. Intermediate brake piston return spring for distortion or weakness. Replace as necessary.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

- Tool Required:
- J 36850 Transjel Transmission Assembly Lubricant

1. Two new intermediate brake piston seals onto intermediate brake piston.
2. Apply J 36850 to the new intermediate brake piston seals.





3. Intermediate brake piston into intermediate brake drum with the cup side facing outwards.
