3. TV cable from throttle valve linkage and TV cable bracket.
4. TV cable from TV cable guide bracket at top of transaxle.
5. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
6. Six bolts and left splash shield from vehicle.
7. Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch from transaxle.
8. Place a drain pan or suitable container under transaxle fluid pan.
9. Transaxle drain plug from transaxle fluid pan and drain transaxle fluid.
10. Transaxle fluid pan and gasket from transaxle.
11. TV cable from throttle valve cam at valve body assembly.

12. TV cable retaining bolt and TV cable from transaxle.

Inspect
- TV cable for fraying, kinks, excessive wear or damage. Replace as necessary.

Important: New TV cables do not have a staked TV cable stopper. If a new TV cable is being installed, the TV cable stopper must be staked. To stake the TV cable stopper on a new TV cable, bend the TV cable to an approximate radius of 200 mm (7.87 inch). Pull on the TV cable until a slight resistance is felt and stake the TV cable stopper at approximately 0.8 to 1.5 mm (0.031 to 0.059 inch) from the end of the TV cable.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. TV cable into transaxle; secure with one retaining bolt.
- Tighten TV cable retaining bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
2. TV cable into throttle valve cam at valve body assembly.
3. New transaxle fluid pan gasket and transaxle fluid pan to transaxle.
4. Transaxle drain plug into transaxle fluid pan.
- Tighten:
- Transaxle drain plug to 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove drain pan from under transaxle fluid pan.
6. PNP switch to transaxle.
7. Left splash shield to vehicle; secure with six-bolts.
- Tighten left splash shield bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
8. Lower vehicle.
9. TV cable into TV cable guide bracket at top of transaxle.
10. TV cable into TV cable bracket and throttle valve linkage.

Adjust
- TV cable.

11. Negative (-) battery cable.
12. Refill transaxle as necessary:
A. Place vehicle on a level surface.
B. Remove fluid level indicator.
C. Add approximately 2.5 liters (2.6 qts.) of Dexron(R)-III Automatic Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, into fluid filler tube.
D. Install fluid level indicator into fluid filler tube.
E. Apply parking brake and block vehicle wheels.
F. With selector lever in P (park) position, start engine. DO NOT race engine.
G. Run engine at idle and move selector lever through each range and return to the P (park) position.
H. With engine running at idle, remove fluid level indicator from filler tube and wipe indicator off.
I. Reinsert fluid level indicator into filler tube making sure it is seated in its original position.
J. Remove the indicator and check the fluid level. The level should be between the full HOT and low HOT marks. If the level is below the low HOT mark, add fluid to bring the level to the full HOT mark. Bringing the fluid level from the low HOT mark to the full HOT mark requires 0.3 liters (0.3 qts.) of fluid. Use Dexron(R)-III Automatic Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent.
