Windshield Washer Switch: Description and Operation
The combination switch, located on the steering column, is comprised of two levers. The first lever is the combination (light/dimmer/turn signal) lever located on the left side of the steering column. The second lever is the combination (windshield wiper/washer) lever located on the right side of the steering column. A twist-type knob on the end of the combination (light/dimmer/turn signal) lever controls the operation of the parking lamps and headlamps. When either the parking lamps or headlamps are activated, the taillamps and rear license plate lamps are also illuminated. When either the parking lamps or headlamps are activated, the instrument panel cluster assembly, cigar lighter, ashtray and the manual selector lever illumination lamps are also illuminated and radio illumination intensity is controlled by the illumination controller, instead of remaining at 100%.Moving the combination (light/dimmer/turn signal) lever forward and rearward controls the operation of the dimmer switch while moving the lever up and down controls the turn signals.
Refer to SRS Standard Steering Wheel and Column or SRS Tilt Steering Wheel and Column for combination switch removal and installation procedures.
