Frontal SIR System Install or Connect

Description:






CAUTION: Proper operation of the sensors and Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) requires that any repair to the vehicle structure return it to Its original production configuration. Deployment requires, at a minimum, replacement of the center sensor assembly, driver inflator module and the passenger inflator module. Any visible damage to the center sensor assembly and/or its mounting bracket requires replacement, whether a deployment occurred or not.

1. Center sensor assembly to vehicle; secure with three bolts.

TIGHTEN
^ Center sensor assembly bolts to 13 N.m (9.6 lb. ft.).
2. Center sensor assembly connector.
^ Reposition and secure rear floor carpet.
3. Rear seat cushion.
4. Console mounting bracket to floor; secure with three bolts.

TIGHTEN

^ Console mounting bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
5. Console to vehicle.
6. Negative (-) battery cable.

TIGHTEN

^ Negative (-) battery cable to negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).

Enable the SRS. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.

TIGHTEN
Center sensor assembly bolts to 13 N.m (9.6 lb. ft.).
Console mounting bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
Negative (-) battery cable to negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
