Removal Procedure






WARNING: Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Release Procedure.

1. Remove the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) from Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly clip.
2. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.

NOTE: Loosen the Air Cleaner (ACL) hose clamp bolt on throttle body.

3. Disconnect the four cap clips from ACL.




4. Disconnect EGR regulator vacuum valve electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the EGR vacuum hoses from the EGR valve.




6. Remove one vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
7. Remove one clamp and the Positive Crankcase Ventilation ([1][2]PCV) hose from the PCV valve.
8. Remove one clamp and the [1][2]PCV hose from the cylinder head cover.




9. Remove two nuts from the air intake chamber cover and the throttle body assembly.
10. Remove three Allen� head screws from the air intake chamber cover and the throttle body assembly.
11. Reposition the air intake chamber cover and the throttle body assembly aside.
12. Remove the air intake chamber cover gasket.




13. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.




14. Remove one bolt and the fuel feed inlet hose from the fuel rail.
15. Remove one clamp and the fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator.




16. Remove two bolts and the injectors with fuel rail from vehicle.
17. Remove the four insulators and two spacers from the intake manifold.
18. Remove the four injectors from the fuel rail.
19. Remove the Orings and grommet from each injector.
20. Remove two bolts and the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel rail.
