Installation Procedure
1. Install the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail.2. Secure the fuel pressure regulator with two bolts.
TIGHTEN
^ Fuel pressure regulator bolts to 9.3 Nm (82 lb. in.).
3. Install the new O-rings and grommets to each of the injectors.
4. Install the four injectors to the fuel rail, positioning injector connectors upward.
5. Install the four new insulators and two spacers in position on the intake manifold.
6. Place the fuel injectors with the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
7. Secure fuel injector and fuel rail with two bolts. Do not tighten fully.
NOTE: Check that the fuel injectors rotate smoothly. If the injectors do not rotate smoothly, the probable cause is incorrect installation of the O-rings. Replace the O-rings if necessary and position the injector connector upward.
TIGHTEN
^ Fuel rail-to-intake manifold bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).
8. Install the fuel feed inlet hose to fuel rail.
9. Secure the fuel feed hose with one bolt.
TIGHTEN
^ Fuel feed hose bolt to 29 Nm (22 lb. ft.).
10. Install the fuel return hose to fuel pressure regulator.
11. Secure the fuel return hose with one clamp.
12. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
13. Install the air intake chamber cover and throttle body assembly to air intake chamber.
14. Secure the air intake chamber cover and throttle body assembly with two nuts and three Allen head screws.
TIGHTEN
^ Air intake chamber cover nuts and Allen head screws to 19 Nm (14 lb. ft.).
15. Connect one vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator.
16. Connect the [1][2]PCV hose to PCV valve.
17. Secure [1][2]PCV hose with one clamp.
18. Connect the [1][2]PCV hose to cylinder head cover.
19. Secure [1][2]PCV hose with one clamp.
20. Connect the EGR vacuum regulator valve electrical connector.
21. Connect the EGR hoses to EGR valve and pipe.
22. Connect the ACL hose and cap to throttle body.
23. Install the four cap clips to ACL.
TIGHTEN
^ ACL hose clamp bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
24. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
25. Connect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) to ACL assembly clip.
26. Connect the negative battery cable.
TIGHTEN
^ Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
27. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and momentarily connect a jumper between DLC terminals +B and Fp to pressurize the fuel system. Check for any fuel leaks.
