Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation

The Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) is an emission control device added to the exhaust system on gasoline engines to reduce pollutants from the exhaust gas stream.

CAUTION: The TWC requires the use of unleaded fuel only, or damage to the catalyst may result.

NOTE: The catalyst is not serviceable; the TWC must be replaced if problems occur.
