Piston: Description and Operation

The pistons are made of a high temperature-resistant aluminum alloy. A depression is cast into the head of each piston to prevent interference with the valves. Piston pins are of the semi-floating type. They are fastened to the connecting rods with pressure fittings, which allows the piston to travel freely during its stroke.
