Bolts

- Tool Required - J 26900-6 Dial Caliper, or equivalent.

1. Install the nut to the connecting rod bolt and check that the nut can easily be turned by hand on the threads.
2. If the nut cannot be turned easily, measure the bolt diameter using a dial caliper. Measure connecting rod bolt diameter at a point approximately 15 mm (0.6 inch) from the bottom edge of the bolt. Standard diameter is 8.860 to 9.000 mm (0.3488 to 0.3543 inch). If diameter is less than 8.60 mm (0.3386 inch), replace the connecting rod bolt. The bolt and nut must be replaced as set.
