Brake Light Switch Removal
Stoplamp Switch Adjustment:
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Stoplamp switch electrical connector.
3. Press brake pedal.
4. Locknut from threaded portion of stoplamp switch.
5. Unscrew stoplamp switch.
Install or Connect
1. Stoplamp switch.
Adjust Stoplamp switch:
A. Pull brake pedal all the way back and hold.
B. Adjust switch position so that switch plunger is pressed by brake pedal contact plate, and so that the threaded portion of the switch is within 1.5 to 2.0 mm (0.06 to 0.08 inch) from the pedal contact plate.
2. Press brake pedal and install stoplamp switch locknut.
^ Tighten Stoplamp switch locknut to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
3. Stoplamp switch electrical connector.
4. Negative (-) battery cable.
