Heated Glass Element Switch: Service and Repair

Instrument Panel Assembly:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Disable the SIR. Refer to Disabling the SIR.
2. Negative (-) battery terminal.
3. Knee bolster.
4. Two bolts, two nuts and drop steering column.
5. Rear defogger switch electrical connector.
6. Clip on bottom of rear defogger switch by pushing up with a pick.
7. Rear defogger switch from left garnish trim panel.

Install or Connect
1. Rear defogger switch to left garnish trim panel. Push in until clip fully engages.
2. Rear defogger switch electrical connector.
3. Steering column to instrument panel; secure with two bolts and two nuts

Tighten
^ Steering column bolts and nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).

4. Knee bolster.
5. Negative (-) battery cable.
6. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR.
