Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair

^Tool Required:
- J 34865 Control Arm Bushing Service Set, Or Equivalent

REMOVAL
Remove or disconnect the following:
1. Control arm from vehicle.





2. Rear bushing from control arm using Control Arm Bushing Service Set and press.





3. Front control arm bracket nut and washers and remove bracket from control arm.





4. Cut flange off of front bushing using a knife.





5. Front bushing from control arm using the Control Arm Bushing Service Set and a press.

INSTALLATION
Install or connect the following:
1. Apply soap and water on circumference of each bushing to facilitate installation.





2. Front bushing to control arm using Control Arm Bushing Service Set and press. Bushing should be centered in the control arm.








3. Rear bushing into control arm using the Control Arm Bushing Service Set and a press. Make sure rear bushing is positioned correctly.





4. Front control arm bracket washers and nut, installing bracket to control arm.
^ Tighten front control arm bracket nut to 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.).
5. Control arm to vehicle.
