General Diagnosis - Starter

Perform the diagnostic procedures and also check the following items.
^ Battery: To determine the condition of the battery, Refer to Battery Diagnosis in Battery and follow the testing procedure. Battery
^ Wiring: Inspect for wiring damage. Inspect the connections to the starter motor, the Starter solenoid, the ignition switch, the battery, and all related ground points.
^ Starter Solenoid and Ignition Switch: Inspect these components and determine their serviceability.
^ Starter Motor: If the battery, wiring and switches are in satisfactory condition and the engine is known to be functioning properly, remove the starter motor. To remove starter motor, Refer to Starter Motor under On-Vehicle Service. After removal, perform starter assembly performance test, Refer to Starter Assembly Performance Testing.
