Starter Motor Assembly-Manual Transaxle Vehicles:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Solenoid from starter motor.
2. Two bolts, two screws and commutator end cover from yoke.
3. Commutator end bushing and washers from yoke.
4. Scribe matchmarks on the yoke and drive housing to ensure proper assembly.

Removing Drive Housing From Yoke:

5. Drive housing from yoke.
6. Pinion drive lever from drive housing.
7. Armature from yoke.

Disconnecting Brushes From Brush Holder:

8. Brush holder from yoke, and brushes from brush holder.
9. Drive bushing from armature.

Armature Stop Ring And Armature Retaining Ring:

10. Pull armature stop ring toward overrunning clutch assembly and remove armature retaining ring from armature.
11. Armature stop ring and overrunning clutch assembly from armature.
