Combination Switch: Description and Operation
The combination switch, located on the steering column, is comprised of the hazard switch and two levers. The first lever is the light/dimmer/turn signal combination switch lever located on the left side of the steering column. The second lever is the windshield wiper/washer combination switch lever located on the right side of the steering column. A twist-type knob on the end of the light/dimmer/turn signal combination switch lever controls the operation of the parking lamps and headlamps. When either the parking lamps or headlamps are activated, the front parking lamps, rear taillamps, rear side marker lamps (2 Door models) and license plate lamps are also illuminated. When either the parking lamps or headlamps are activated, the instrument panel cluster assembly, and the manual selector lever (automatic transaxle equipped vehicles) illumination lamps are also illuminated.Moving the light/dimmer/turn signal combination switch lever forward and rearward controls the operation of the dimmer switch while moving the lever up and down controls the turn signals.
