Front End Discriminating Sensor






CAUTION: Be careful when you handle a sensor. Do not strike or jolt a sensor. Before applying power to a sensor:
^ Remove any dirt, grease, etc. from the mounting surface.
^ Position the sensor horizontally on the mounting surface.
^ Point the arrow on the sensor toward the front of the vehicle.
^ Tighten all of the sensor fasteners and sensor bracket fasteners to the specified torque value.
Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.


Remove or Disconnect
^ Disable the SIR system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
1. The Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and the electrical connector.
2. The pigtail from the pigtail clips.
3. The inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor fasteners.
4. The inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor from the vehicle.

Install or Connect
1. The inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor in the vehicle, ensure that the arrow is pointing toward the front of the vehicle.
2. The inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor fasteners.

Tighten
^ Fasteners to 5.5 N.m (49 lb. in.).
3. The pigtail to the pigtail clips.
4. The electrical connector and the CPA.
^ Enable the SIR system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.


Tighten
Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Fasteners to 5.5 N.m (49 lb. in.).
